Colorado hospital officials say the health overhaul bill passed by the House this past weekend is a good start toward reform. But there’s also parts of the bill they don’t like. At a policy summit in Denver Tuesday, the Colorado Hospital Association offered reviews of the legislation. KCFR Health Reporter Eric Whitney has more.

Governor Ritter formally presented his plan to cut 1 billion dollars from the state budget to lawmakers on Tuesday. Members of the joint budget committee asked few questions, but wondered whether all the proposals would be feasible. Bente Birkeland reports from the state capitol.

Senate Minority leader Josh Penry blasted someone for telling the Washington Post he was dropping out of the 2010 Governor’s race calling that person a yahoo. When the news was leaked on Monday, Penry said he hadn’t told his close friends or employer. Penry didn’t say whether he will endorse his former rival, Republican Scott McInnis. Mass vaccination clinics aimed at combating H1N1, or swine flu, have begun across Colorado. But the supply of vaccine here remains short, as it does nationwide. Far more people want the vaccine than can have it at this point. Health officials are struggling to get what vaccine they do have to people at highest risk, and asking the rest of the public to remain patient. KCFR Health Reporter Eric Whitney went to some of the first mass vaccination clinics in the Denver metro area and has this story.
