Republican Candidates Criticize Tancredo

The Republican candidates for governor say they have no plans to drop out after the primary, despite calls from former Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo to do so. Tancredo says the two candidates are poor choices and have no hope of winning the Governor’s seat this fall. He pledged to step in as a minor party candidate as early as Monday. Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.

Round-Up: Fuel tanks found, BLM to open public comments on “Over the River,” and more

A search team has found two empty fuel tanks that were jettisoned from an F-16 jet fighter during an in-flight emergency over Colorado…The Bureau of Land Management is looking to open a public comment period on artist Christo’s proposed “Over the River” project…and, federal scientists say an exotic fungus spreading through Rocky Mountain forests is threatening Colorado’s oldest trees.

The search has resumed for two empty fuel tanks that were jettisoned from an F-16 during an in-flight emergency over Colorado (KOAA, KRDO).

The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments is seeking public comment on the draft Transportation Improvement Program for fiscal years 2010 to 2017 (Business Journal).

Black Hills Energy was awarded an air permit Thursday by the Colorado State Department of Public Health and Environment, clearing the way for the electric power utility to begin construction on a $450 million power plant complex northeast of Pueblo (Chieftain).

Tancredo’s Ultimatum

The Republican nomination for Governor has taken another twist just weeks before the August 10th primary. Former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo is calling for both candidates to drop out and threatening to enter the race himself as a minor party candidate. Tancredo says the current Republican hopefuls leave him no choice, saying neither has a shot at winning the Governor’s seat this November. Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.

Round-Up: Water in CO, and Tancredo considers run for governor

More than half of the counties in Colorado face the potential risk of water shortages by 2050, according to a new report by the consulting firm Tetra-Tech…Former GOP congressman Tom Tancredo is negotiating with the American Constitution Party to run for governor. He would replace their candidate, Benjamin Goss, on the ballot.

Colorado GOP Reacts to McInnis Plagiarism
