The Salt & Pepper Collector

Jackie Houston, owner of the North End Diner, has been collecting salt and pepper shakers for 15 years at her restaurant on Hancock just north of Fillmore. During that time she may well have amassed the largest collection of salt & pepper shakers in Southern Colorado. Jackie showed us a few of her favorites while we marvelled at her many shelves of shakers.

We recommend viewing this slideshow in full-screen mode by clicking on the four arrows in the lower right-hand corner of the show.

Thanks to photographer Carol Dass who came and took some of the photos!

  1. I too am a collector, personally having close to 100 sets. My favorites are “Hat Check Girl”, “John Kennedy in a Rocking Chair”, and “Old Time Baseball Player and Umpire”. Wish I could upload photos!
