This story about a date with Lorne Greene that my mother told me a few weeks ago embodies what we hope to do with the nascent Big Something Radio Program: It starts with something simple like a rice diet and then leads to a providential encounter with a B-plus-list television actor and an unforgettable date to see one of the greatest rock & roll singers of all time.
We beg you to listen to this story and then to the instructions that follow on how you can help us build this radio program right here in the Pikes Peak Region with nothing but this seed/Lego of a story. We’re thrilled that we’ve already heard from someone who went out on a date with David Prowse (Darth Vader) and an individual who recorded an interview with Lorne Greene on the set of Bonanza in 1965. This is amazing!

Fantastic Noel – LOVED IT!!!! I thought it was interesting how you asked your mother whether she repaid the “favor” to Lorne or not and then segwayed into the Bonanza soundtrack…
I’m really looking forward to listening in the future – maybe I’ll recall a story of my own

Yes, we all owe a huge debt to This American Life. And we certainly hope to do things a bit differently. It may not always be “stories” per se, for example. But we’ll see. We just want it to become whatever it wants to become. Fun so far.

Lots of good little seeds in that article… suprise encounters with famous people; extreme diets; what parents will do to.. I mean for… their kids; what you don’t (want to) know about your parents; and what’s ok then & now. I’ll have to put on my story cap & pick one.
Don’t worry about TAL. Everyone loves a good story. Personal stories are irresistable in any format. I’m looking forward to a great starship ride!
