Western Skies, August 1, 2010: “Sports in the Pikes Peak Region”

Athletics in the Pikes Peak region take on many forms, from outdoor sports like cycling and running, to Olympic level competition, to minor league baseball. This month, Western Skies takes a look at sports in the region.

  1. I enjoyed this month’s program, though I was hoping you’d cover the culture of sports a little more, as you’ve covered the culture of tourism and of budget cutbacks. The yoga piece was informative and the dramatic reading on historical baseball was pretty funny as read by Mr. Bieri. I was also interested in the piece on drug testing, but the story seemed to embrace the moral outlook of its interview subjects.
